The craziness has begun!

Today I was able to go and work in my classroom a little and am amazed at how quickly it is all coming together! Yesterday, my mom was able to help me for a couple of hours and we really got a lot done! My mom put up 2 of my HUGE bulletin boards while I started the task of finding a new home for all of my "stuff". I will post before and after pictures when it is all put together and really cute!

I also got to see several of "my" kiddos and their families! I think each of my little kiddos grew at least 3-4 inches over the summer. I am going to have most of my kids from last year again because we are looping from Kinder to first, so I can just imagine how much they will have grown from beginning Kinder. to the end of First!!!

This afternoon I went to DBU to register for my classes. I am going to take 6 hours this semester with a cohort. They have decided to do one, three hour class from August - October and then the other class from October - December. I am so thankful that we can split it up like that! This should be fun, and a lot of really hard work.

Oh! I almost forgot!

I was accepted at DBU, and will be beginning my Master's degree in school counseling this fall! I am going to meet with DBU sometime this week to figure it all out, and will keep you posted. I think my crazy busy life is just about to get even busier!

St. Thomas = FABULOUS!

I am baaaa-aaaack! I am so thankful to be home. I can't wait to blog about the entire trip, but I will tell the short version tonight. St. THomas is the most beautiful place on earth. Pictures don't show half of the beauty you can see there. We had an excellent trip until the last full day where I became very sick and ended up having to go to the Dr. 4 shots and 2 prescriptions, and 72+hours later I am home, and 25 hours later I finally have my luggage.

Pictures and stories to come very soon! Even though it was tough the last couple of days, I HIGHLY recommend St. Thomas to anyone looking for a vacation destination.

Tomorrow it is back to reality as I go back to my new first grade classroom and try and unpack all of my things, and take full advantage of my mom's help for the day. As much as I have looked forward to settling into my new room, I am kind of sad that this is my last night of summer.

Lipgloss : Deal or Dud?

I love lipgloss! I am always purchasing different brands always in search of the perfect lip gloss that is not only tasty, (because let's face it people, at least a little always ends up in your mouth) but that will also stay on. In the never ending quest for the perfect lip gloss I was lured in by the new L'Oreal commercial that told me that if I would wear their newest lip gloss it would stay on for 6 hours. 6 HOURS!!!! If this product can do what it says it can, it will revolutionize lip gloss as we know it.

So armed with my $3 off coupon I head into the store to make the big purchase. I got Dolche de Leche. At exactly 2:30 I put the lip gloss on. By dinner at 7, it was long gone.

My review: This product was slightly pricey without a coupon. Expect to pay almost $10. This lip gloss did last longer than any other lip gloss I have tried. However, it did not last the full 6 hours that I was promised. Mine lasted about 2 1/2 hours. Maybe you are supposed to put it on and not drink, eat or speak? I did enjoy the color though!

Overall I would say this product is a DUD because it did not last the entire 6 hours.

My runner-up fave. lip gloss is from Victoria's Secret. It lasts for about an hour, and is tasty too!

Feline Biggest Looser Continues!

This just in! Even with a day of cheating on his diet, Punkin is down to 20 pounds! I think he would have lost a little more had he not stolen treats at my mom's house. You see, she keeps the treats on top of the washer-dryer and he thought he would be sneaky and jump up and have one. Instead, the lid was up, on the washer and he clumsily landed in the washer with the bag of treats and enjoyed many treats. He was one happy cat.

Fun and Busy!

Today was just about perfect! It began by me actually waking up on time to make it to church. :) Going to Sunday School and BIG church, then heading over to my Grandmother's house to enjoy her pool for the afternoon. After 3 hours at the pool I came home to let the puppies out, ( I am dog sitting for my mom) and then off to the gym. I am having Turkey spaghetti with mushrooms and onions for dinner. Tonight I think I may even going to tackle the weeds in the flowerbed, and mow the backyard. Call me crazy, but I actually love this extremely hot 105 degree weather!
