Copper Loves Summer!

Copper just looooooves summer time and visiting my mom! At home, Copper is obsessed with his ball. He takes it everywhere he goes! Some say my dog is obsessive compulsive about his ball. :) Anyways... when I visit my mom in the summer, I always bring Copper. He loves her pool too! In fact, he will spend all day jumping into the pool after the ball. It is so funny to watch!

Copper is Home!

Copper is home!! The vet called around 5 and said Copper's fever had stayed down, and he was keeping all of his medicines in! He will be on medicine for the next 60 days to prevent internal bleeding. I am so thankful that my little puppy will be A-ok! Since the medicine will make him have to g outside frequently, they shaved his hiney, and wrapped up his tail so he wouldn't get anything on himself. He looks pretty pathetic, but I am so thankful he is going to be alright!

Copper

Please pray for my little puppy Copper. I let him follow me out to the garage this morning to take out the trash, and he decided to have rat poison for breakfast. The poison has been out for a very long time, and he has never taken any time to even sniff it, much less eat it, so I wasn't watching him as close as I should have. I thank God that I was with him, and saw him eating it, so I could get him help immediately. I called the emergency vet and they said to come in right away, that the type of poison I had would cause blood clots.


They took Copper and were able to make him throw up most of the poison, but a lot of it was still in his little body. His temp. was 106 (they said normally a dog runs about 102) and his blood was beginning to clot. They are keeping him for now, and should know more by 5:00 today. Please pray for my sweet puppy to recover from this!

Is it really that bad?

Confession: I like to cook. I don't cook often because of a huge lack of time. I try to cook at least 2 meals each weekend so I can have leftovers for dinner throughout the week. I can't do anything fancy, but do pretty well on the basics. Every time I cook my dog goes crazy, he runs around, barks and tries to get out of the house. He usually will refuse to come back in until the house has had time to air out.

When he was a puppy (4 years ago), I made a grilled cheese sandwich and somehow the sandwich caught on fire and made the house really stinky. I know, I know. You are asking how I was able to set fire to a sandwich. I still can't explain that. But, I have come a long way in 4 years!
Anyways, my dog must have flashbacks every time I cook, because he goes nuts every time I cook. Tonight's dinner was delicious though! Homemade mashed potatoes, grilled chicken, salad, and sauteed mushrooms.

For the 4th of July, I drove out to Abilene to visit my mom. All day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we spent by the pool swimming and grilling out. My puppy, Copper LOVES going swimming! I couldn't decide which video was cuter, so you can see them both! This was my first attempt to use the new video camera, so the quality isn't that great, BUT you can still see how much my dog loves swimming!

Sweet Animals

After reviewing my blog, I realized I didn't have any pictures up of my sweet animals. So here are some pictures for your enjoyment! As you can tell, the chair is a favorite of both Copper and Punkin. Copper is a 3 year old Pomeranian and is not a very well balanced dog. He seems to obsess over things like his ball. As you can see from the picture he even sleeps with it!

Punkin weighs 21 pounds (the vet says he is "big boned" and carries the weight well. He is very sensitive about his weight, and does not like for you to look at his belly, or try and touch it. Punkin has been on a prescription diet for about a month now, and we are going back to the vet for the big weigh in next week. Stay tuned for the Feline Biggest Looser!
